NX7.5 Exporting Sketches Issues

NX7.5 Exporting Sketches Issues

NX7.5 Exporting Sketches Issues

(OP)
I'm new to this forum, but I have searched around and I have not found a clear answer to this question. I use sketches often and I wish to have the ability to export these to IGES, STP, and DWG files for waterjet to cut along the lines. When I go to export these sketches, I get an error: "Some selected objects cannot be exported because objects which they depend upon cannot be exported".

I have been going around this by coping the sketch objects to another layer and exporting the copied layer lines. The problem with this is duplicates, extra items on multiple layers, and its unclear to other engineers who have to update the file in the future. I'm guessing that it is the Datum Plane from which the sketch was created that is causing this issue. Anyone have a solution to fixing this?

Thank you.

RE: NX7.5 Exporting Sketches Issues

If you are using the "entire part" export option, be sure to turn on the "export curves" option. If you are using the "selected objects" export option, be sure to select the curves of the sketch and not the sketch feature itself (set the selection filter to "curves" to help here).
