NX 9 Dimensioning Stinks!!

NX 9 Dimensioning Stinks!!

NX 9 Dimensioning Stinks!!

(OP)
I'm trying, I really am. We just upgraded from 8.5 to 9 so I'm trying to be patient and learn the new system but my team's drafting productivity has went down dramatically. I just don't understand why you'd fix something that wasn't broken...

When placing a 'Rapid Dimension', often times I will Select First Object, and both First and Second will be automatically placed, forcing me to go back to the dialogue box and click 'Select Second Object' and repick. Might not sound like much of an annoyance but it is pretty frustrating.

What happened to the 'Edit Associativity' option? The new method, while may be more intuitive, seems like a step backwards in terms of producitivity. Instead of replacing the quicker Edit Associativity option, why not add the new fancy Edit options while also keeping the older quick method as well?

Also there seems to be a memory leak, not sure if its related to drafting or something else. Going to update the Memory Leak thread with as much information as I can to hopefully help others see what's causing this since switching to 9.

RE: NX 9 Dimensioning Stinks!!

600+ users and I've not received any favourable comments about NX9 Drafting usability.

On top of that I've been submitting IR after IR.

RE: NX 9 Dimensioning Stinks!!

There's a project underway, which has included TWO webinars with the Drafting Product Management team where users were invited to share their concerns and for our people to discuss what we were doing to address these issues. At the moment the design and implementation phase of that effort is underway and will be delivered in upcoming releases of NX.
