Plot Banner

Plot Banner

Plot Banner

(OP)
I am using UG NX 8.5.1.3 in Win7
I have set the banner origin in 'Customer Defaults' to X-Right-(-11.7) and Y-bottom-(.1) Rotation-0 Justification-Right
I exit UG so these are set.
I open UG and when I plot drawings, all banner origins are still at the default.
I went back and checked 'Customer Defaults' and they are set to what I want.
Is there a file that these are set in, and not being written to?
I have looked in "ugii_env_ug.dat" but didn't see anything related to the banner.
Thank you.

Brad

Anybody have information on this?

RE: Plot Banner

Be sure the values you have enetered are valid for that plotter.
It has been a while since I played with banners, but do remember setting them only to have them not plot since they were outside the 'plot boundary' being sent to the plotter by UG.

RE: Plot Banner

Perhaps "dialog memory" is over riding the values you set in the customer defaults? I'm not sure that dialog memory applies to the plot dialog, but it's worth checking on.

The values are good. When I put the correct ones in, it works just fine.

Don't know how to check "dialog memory"
When I put the values I want in,and plot, it is OK.
When I shut down and come back in, the defaults return, what I put in is gone.
This is why I am wondering if they are written to a file and what that file is.

RE: Plot Banner

Are these values written to a file somewhere?

RE: Plot Banner

The settings should be saved in your customer defaults file(s); NX85_site.dpv, NX85_group.dpv, or NX85_user.dpv depending on which level you made the change to.

Thanks cowski, but I don't find any of those files in my NX installation.
Do you know what directory they might be in or should be in?

RE: Plot Banner

Those files are found at...

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Unigraphics Solutions\NX85

Starting with NX 9.0, this has been changed to...

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Siemens\NX90

RE: Plot Banner

NX85_user.dpv should be on your local drive, something like:
C:\Users\{your login name}\AppData\Local\Unigraphics Solutions\NX85

The site and group files should be somewhere on the network where everyone has read access to them. You can check your NX log file to help track them down (Help -> log file). In the log file, search for "NX85_site.dpv" and "NX85_group.dpv", the full paths to these files should appear near the top of the log file.

Thanks guys, I found it.
All the values appear to be in the right place, they are just not getting picked up by UG.

Found this in the log file:
