Parasolid export
Parasolid export
(OP)
Hey guys..
Short question about exporting and importing of parasolids.
When I export a Parasolid from NX8.5.3., after that I import it again in NX (same version) I get the below result in part navigator.

Now when I double click (edit) the feature I get below message.

Which implies that somehow there is feature information to be retrieved and capable of editing...how can I accomplish this?

And please do NOT read too much into the wording of the message as I've already stated that it's poorly worded and does mean what you might think it does.

RE: Parasolid export
The problem is actually that we are moving to NX9 pretty soon from now. However some of our Licensees are staying on NX8.5 (or switching from 7.5 to 8.5) and we need to come up with a solid way (pun intended) to exchange our NX9 data with their earlier versions..
So probably Step would be our best bet, just need to come up with a solution for the drawings...

RE: Parasolid export
File -> Import -> Parasolid...
...workflow rather then opening the Parasolid files directly using File -> Open...
Granted, we support both approaches, but in your case, perhaps the way I've proposed above would serve you better in the long run. And before you ask, nothing has changed in NX 9.0 or NX 10.0 with respect to these two alternative methods for moving Parsolid data from newer versions of NX to an older version.

RE: Parasolid export
Say that you design your parts in SE and use NX for Simulation, CAM etc, then you can "replace" the SE body and keep the work done in NX.
