How to reorder a blend after a Geometry Mirror?

How to reorder a blend after a Geometry Mirror?

How to reorder a blend after a Geometry Mirror?

(OP)
Hello,

I have an extruded feature, and an edge blend on it, which together becomes a solid body. Then I do a Mirror Geometry using this body.
Later, I decide to move the blend feature AFTER the mirror feature. However, a warning appears: There is a dependency between Edge Blend(5) and Mirror Geometry (6) which does not allow reordering.
This makes no sense, because the mirror feature is referencing the BODY, not the blend feature.
So why is it not working? Is there a way to break this "dependency" to allow me to reorder the blend?

However, the Blend feature is part of what makes-up the Body. Therefore, when you mirrored the 'Body' you mirrored the Blend feature along with the Extrude. If you wanted to only mirror the Extrude feature then instead of using 'Mirror Geomerty' you should have used the 'Mirror Feature' function, which would have left you free to reorder the Blend feature however you wanted to.

You could make the feature before the blend current, then create a solid body (or an unassociative copy of your model in the current state) and edit the blend to remove it from the main body and apply it to the dummy body. Make the mirror geometry feature current, reorder the blend feature, and now edit the blend to remove it from the dummy body and re-apply it to your model.
