CRITERIA FOR PROGRAM TO DESIGN STEEL BEAMS

CRITERIA FOR PROGRAM TO DESIGN STEEL BEAMS

(OP)
Hello

I am right now programming some frame analysis software and I'm trying to implement a member design routine for the program, the thing is, I'm not really sure what procedure has been proven to be more effective. I was thinking of following an approach similar to Aminmansour's procedure and then checking deflections to see whether they comply with the limits. Has anybody ever done something related to these, I'm trying to find information on how etabs, sap or ram/staad approaches the design criteria.
