Select and box select

Select and box select

(OP)
I know this is dumb but since using SWX 2015 I have noticed that the cursor frequently changes to box select in an assembly. So, I have two questions:

1) How can I stop it doing it?
2) When it has changed, how do I 'de-select' box select and get back to single part selecting?

Trying to unselect the box under tools doesn't do it. Niether does escape, control, tab or any other of the ways and combinations I have tried. It's driving me nuts!

RE: Select and box select

Did you update the graphics driver after upgrading SW? Run the SOLIDWORKS Rx > Diagnostics tool to check.
Have you checked for new mouse driver?

Hi,
Have checked and latest driver n use and diagnostics pass ok. The cursor changes are not happening today. I'm confused.

RE: Select and box select

Is it possible that you have a shortcut key to swap between box and whatever you're using? If you go to tools, customize and look at the keyboard commands (search for selection) is there a keystroke there that you keep pushing? Mouse gesture?

RE: Select and box select

Have you looked at System Options-Display/Selection-at the top is "Lasso" or "Box".
Try toggling them and OK (Lasso-OK, Box-OK).
I don't know if this will help, but all I can see.
