Shear Strength of Double Tee Per ACI
Shear Strength of Double Tee Per ACI
(OP)
I am reviewing some existing precast/prestressed double tees for a heavy vehicle load. I am using ACI 318 equations for Vci and Vcw to calculate shear capacity of the DT's. No shear steel in the stems. My question is regarding Vci.
The DT's in question have a cast in place topping (not pre-topped). Vd is the dead load shear, which for this case I think is only the dead load, no super imposed dead loads. I think Vi and Mmax include SDL and LL. Mcre would be the sum of SDL moments on the non-composite section + whatever additional moment is necessary to reach cracking on the composite section. Do folks agree or would they apply the DL/SDL/LL differently to the various components?
Thanks
