Options Window ACAD 2002

Options Window ACAD 2002

(OP)
We are on a network version of ACAD 2002. Everytime I save my "options" settings and update my profile in the current session with ACAD everything works fine. BUT, when I close ACAD and start it again, my settings are not saved, I need to manually go back and change settings such as # command lines on the screen, arc and circle smoothness, etc. What settings need to be in place to keep my profile intact from session to session, anyone know?

RE: Options Window ACAD 2002

Check the way that ACAD starts. Look at the properties of the shortcut to start ACAD and make sure it doesn't have something like C:\Program Files\ACAD2000\acad.exe /p"f:\some_profile.arg"

It is the info after the /p that calls up a profile to load at startup. Also check that if you are using WIN2K, that you are logged on as a power user or you will not be able to update the registry (which is where ACAD stores all of your settings).

RE: Options Window ACAD 2002

After going to the Tools>Options>Profiles, choose the profile you want to keep, and Export the profile to your computer somewhere that isn't in same location of ACAD (maybe a folder with your name on it, or My Documents). Save the ".arg" file to something you will recognize.  Now, if it ACAD can't find your profile, or your profile gets corrupted, all you have to do is Import your profile.  You could put a switch in the startup icon, but if your profile can't be found, it doesn't do it any good.
