CvVd Question - Aashto LTS

CvVd Question - Aashto LTS

CvVd Question - Aashto LTS

(OP)
Guys,
In the Aashto code procedure to calculate Cd, I read to calculate CvVd:
Cv comes from Table 3-4 (AASHTO LTS-6)
V is the basic wind speed
d is the diameter of pole
(Cv x V x d)
Here d is the diameter of the pole. But, when its a taper pole, which diameter should be considered Top or Bottom?

Thanks
GC

whichever size gives you the worst case loading.
