Defining Helix pitch as equal distance ALONG the size law curve?

Defining Helix pitch as equal distance ALONG the size law curve?

Defining Helix pitch as equal distance ALONG the size law curve?

(OP)
Hello,

How should I create a helix with a variable pitch which is defined as equal distance along the law curve which defines the size of the helix? See attached image for clarification.
The image on the right has points along the law curve which is created with a Pattern Geometry feature. Another way to put the question, is there a way to have the helix "pass through" these points? The curve which acts as the law curve for the size of the helix is a freeform spline, no math involved.

Thanks.

Have you made progress on this problem?

I had an idea for it today, but I won't go so far as to call it a "good" idea...

The way I've done it is to define the pitch as Linear along Spine (spine being the center line), then add points along the spine using the points created earlier. After that I manually adjust the pitch for each point until the helix passes through each point. It's tedious, not parametric, and not very accurate. And even if the helix seems to pass roughly through each point, there is no guarantee that the pitch changes smoothly and correctly throughout the whole helix.

Do you know that you can measure the length of the spline and save it in and expression and then work with that ?
