(OP)
I would like to address this thread to Mr168 thread725-268321: GMAW-P on P4 Material
In his last comment he states “Manganese levels are right at 1%. Thankfully, the wire is an EN standard common over in Europe, so it was readily available not taking into account the shipping/customs delays.” I have shared similar results with respect to porosity using some of the higher quality brands of filler material and experimenting with various gas compositions, I have been successful in limiting the amounts of porosity to minimal small single pores that are acceptable per code. I have occasional welds that are completely free of porosity. I would prefer consistently porosity free welds. Mr168, You seem to have achieved this, Would you mind sharing with me the name of this wire and where to purchase.

RE: GMAW-P 80S-B2 Filler wire

Hello JRayMechWelding, luckily I saw your post while perusing the boards! I'm rarely able to spend much time on here these days, so I apologize for the delay.

The wire I had success with was Lincoln LNM 19, which is the CrMo1Si classification. The product came through Lincoln Nordic Finland. I have not had the opportunity to work with that wire since that particular project, but would not hesitate to do so again. Hope this helps!
