how to model a cantilever beam with tip cyclic loading

how to model a cantilever beam with tip cyclic loading

(OP)
Hi,

I'm trying to model a cantilever beam with a tip cyclic load. I use Ramberg-Osgood hardening in my own code and I am trying to verify it using abaqus. I use isotropic hardening in abaqus, which allows me to copy in a bunch of data points to define the stress-strain relationship for the loading part. However, when it comes to unloading, abaqus result is not that smooth (it seems that abaqus ignores Bauschinger effect). I know isotropic hardening doesn't consider Bauschinger effect, but when I use kinematic hardening, I'm not allowed to copy in more than 2 data points to define stress-strain curve. I also tried combined hardening in abaqus (I use the half cycle), but the result is too wider than actual. Can anyone help me with that? Thanks in advance!

Nathan.
