Assembly Compare in NX

Assembly Compare in NX

Assembly Compare in NX

(OP)
Hello All,
I want to know how to compare assembly in NX as in Catia V5 we can Compare two assembly by using SPA license.
Please help me.

RE: Assembly Compare in NX

Compare them how? I mean, what is the criteria of your comparison? Are we talking about comparing the contents as in do they contain the same Components, or do they take-up the same volume of space, etc?

I mean one tow one compare as we do in Catia V5 with SPA license it compre red and green it is high light if it is difference in part and body. Please let me know any one is it possible in NX or not. I have one assembly than in next same assembly we updated we want to know if these changes are there or not .

RE: Assembly Compare in NX

There is a 'Model Compare' utility in NX but I've never tried to use it to compare Assemblies. You can find it at...

Analysis -> Model Compare...

i traied model compare and it is not comparing assembly and it is not good also. If some one knows like SPA in Catia do compare exactly and shows Red green highlighted if its having mismatch.
Please help me.

RE: Assembly Compare in NX

You can use the Siemens Teamcenter Visualization product to compare Assemblies created in NX. And while it is true that TC Vis is an add-on product, it does NOT require that you actually have Teamcenter installed as Vis is a standalone application that is simply part of the Teamcenter 'family' of products.

And before anyone comments, SPA in Catia is ALSO an add-on, extra cost product.

anyone can help me to compare model in NX like we do in Catia

RE: Assembly Compare in NX

Without addons like you have with Catia...

Here is how I do it in NX. Manually.
I make sure both assemblies "Read Only"
Then I make a "new" file from a template and add the "old level" assembly to it. Change color to RED
Then add the "new level" assembly to it. Change color to GREEN.
I go through the ANT and uncheck any files that are the same (identical file names)in both assemblies and other parts not relevant to my project.
Then I use "Model Compare" to compare individual components.

Now this only works well with major OEMs who supply NX files. If its imported data, other steps may need to be taken to ensure things stay sorted out correctly. We've got a bunch of customers who never "rev" up files. occasionally we will get 4 engineering changes all with the exact same file name.
