ASTM A992 and ATSM A36 equivalent in Europe
ASTM A992 and ATSM A36 equivalent in Europe
(OP)
Hi mates,
We have a new project that requires material similar to the ASTM Standards.
Our metal supply tell us that the EN10025 S275JR is equivalent to the ASTM A36 and the S355JR to the ASTM A992.
Is that equivalence acceptable in the project?
We have different profile needs: UPN (A36), HEA (A992), L (A36), sheet metal (A992), HSS(A992), etc..
Thanks in advance

You might want to have impact values of 40J (K) or 60J (L) @ 0°C (0) ; -20°C (2) or -40°C (4)
these have eg. an appendix of K2 or J4
JR is the very least type of these steel grades. Outside, JO is used at a minimum unless you're building in Greece or Spain.
Eurocode EN1993-1-10 will tell you what charpy value you should use depending on where in europe your steel will be used.
