RE: R Stamp (ASME Code)

If welding to be done, yes but if mecanical attachment then you may not need

RE: R Stamp (ASME Code)

First, what does the local Jurisdiction require for pressure vessel weld repairs? Some Jurisdictions do not regulate pressure vessels so you can use either the NBIC or API 510.

RE: R Stamp (ASME Code)

Similar to a post last week. It depends on where the vessel is and whether or not it has been put into service. If the vessel is still at the shop, it is not a repair. If the vessel is delivered to site but has not been put into service, it is not a repair (as is the case in my jurisdiciton). You may be able to do the work under original code of construction (Section VIII?) without additional stamps or nameplate modifications. Consult your local AI for final answer.

RE: R Stamp (ASME Code)

Code construction is considered as complete when the data report is signed and vessel stamped.
It has nothing to do with "whether put in service" or "still in shop not delivered".

For R stamp on missing part, it depends on various factors: Whether the vessel was PWHT, whether impact tests are required, Mr Bahruni should talk to his AI
