Column Sway Frame - Fire Rating

Column Sway Frame - Fire Rating

(OP)
Hi,

Does anybody have some tips for calculating FRL for columns (slender) in sway frames.

Im based in Australia, AS3600 does not provide data for the above condition. It does reference Eurocode 2, Part 1.2.

Im not familar with Eurocode, but I understand I can calculate the reduced cross section using Appendix B.2 Zone Method, and Appendix B.1 to calculate reduced reinforcement and concrete strength, for a nominated temperature. From these values calculate the capacity of the member and compare to the design load under fire combination.

Is there another method other people adopt, or a software that will calculate this for me.

Thankyou in advance

RE: Column Sway Frame - Fire Rating

I'm interested in the answer to this as well, perhaps post it in AS/NZ code issues forum?
