ASME FITTINGS, BUTTWELDING AND SOCKET-WELDING

ASME FITTINGS, BUTTWELDING AND SOCKET-WELDING

ASME FITTINGS, BUTTWELDING AND SOCKET-WELDING

(OP)
Hi, I am hoping any engineers out there could help me out understanding a few things.

ASME B16.11-2011 FORGED FITTINGS, SOCKET-WELDING AND THREADED

This standard does well explaining the method of designating outlets of reducing tees and crosses (see Para. 3.2 Reducing Fitting Size), however, none of Tables 4 through 7 give the standard sizes for forged reducing fittings, socket-welded or threaded. Where can I find the standard reducing sizes?

ASME B16.9-2003 FACTORY-MADE WROUGHT BUTTWELDING FITTINGS

This standard explains nothing of reducing size designations, but, numerous standard Tables including sizing for reducing fittings (see Table 4, Table 9, Table 12). Further, it does not even follow the method of designating reducing crosses described in ASME B1611 Para. 3.2.).

From my limited understanding, not all wrought products are produced in the same size as forged products and vise-versa. Any input to clear my thinking would be helpful. Thanks.

RE: ASME FITTINGS, BUTTWELDING AND SOCKET-WELDING

What do you mean. All the sizes of threaded and socket w. Are there int he B16_11 book. what I don't like of the std is that it does not give you thicknesses,

RE: ASME FITTINGS, BUTTWELDING AND SOCKET-WELDING

Buttwelding is not under B16_11
