ANSYS Mechanical - Modelling an Earthquake.

(OP)
Hi all,

I am currently testing structural resistance to earthquakes using transient analysis (mode superposition.) on ANSYS Mechanical. I am having a number of issues.

My first issue is that my mode frequencies are very high for the structure (around 200Hz, rather than 0.5-1Hz.) How can I set my elements as rigid bodies and give hem inertial values, and will this wok to reduce the frequency?

I have expanded 40 nodes and now want to perform the transient mode superposition analysis but I am having difficulty applying the loads.
so how do I apply a time varying displacement load on the 4 foundation's of the structure.

If anyone has any help or can refer me to a useful source I'd be incredibly grateful.
Thanks
