Tube expansion depth ratio

Tube expansion depth ratio

Tube expansion depth ratio

(OP)
HI
I am preparing calculation with ASME 8 div 1 concerning tubesheet. I forgot wthat does it mean: "Tube expansion depth ratio"
Value is not in inches / mm
Could You write small explanation ?
Thanks

RE: Tube expansion depth ratio

MichaelDexter, hard to say for sure without knowing which software you are using, but would typically mean the ratio of tube expansion length to tubesheet thickness.

I have one program uses 95% by default, although actual depth can be entered, in length units.

Another just uses the depth in length units only.

BTW, it's Sec VIII, not 8 :)

Regards,

Mike

Thanks, I am using Norwegian Visual Vessel Design ver 10.
Range for this value is from 0 to 1, without unit
I think, your first advice is correct
Yes, you have right, ASME VIII, I don't remember when made exchanger calculation with ASME code, maybe in 2009 ?
Regards
