U-1A Form ASME Sec VIII Div 1 - 2013

U-1A Form ASME Sec VIII Div 1 - 2013

U-1A Form ASME Sec VIII Div 1 - 2013

(OP)
ASME Sec VIII Div. 1 - 2013

Form U-1A under part 8 Heads: has items 17, 27 and 31 to check vs the "Instructions for the preparation of Manufacturer's Data Reports". Item 17 is the "length of shell, excluding heads", Item 27 is Heat treatment performed by the manufacturer. Both are located under other parts of the form. Is this a mistake?...I have always put in the specification for the heads material, ie: SA-516-70. If this is not a mistake, can someone enlighten me. It is the same in the 2010 Edition.

RE: U-1A Form ASME Sec VIII Div 1 - 2013

It should have been 20, 27 and 31
All you need to report in this part is Material specification/grade of Head, Whether any post forming heat treatment was performed and if there is any Category A welds within head and if yes, the extent of RT and efficiency for such joints.

In the form U-1, you have space for the type of joint, extent of RT and efficiency.
