NX9 - Relinking WAVE Interface Links

NX9 - Relinking WAVE Interface Links

(OP)
Hey Everyone,
I saw at our last regional user group meeting a presentation on using the Product Interface and WAVE Interface Linker to create WAVE links seemlessly. I was really impressed and opted to use this technique to model a master housing file and then split it up into its verious pieces.(Main Housing, Front, Rear, Etc..) This worked great and I have been impressed on how no matter what I seem to do to the parts the links dont break unlike my experience with the WAVE Geometry Linker.
Anyway, I tried breaking a link recently to see if it was as easy to repair as my WAVE Geometery links and found that I couldnt fix the links. I went thru GTAC and their suggestion was to use the General Relinker tool, which come to find out we dont have the license to use at the moment.
In any case, has anyone who has used the WAVE Interface Linker been able to fix a broken link without having to have a special license? I dont understand why I can fix a WAVE Geometry Link but I cant fix my WAVE Interface Links.
