Linking Part Properties to Drawing

Linking Part Properties to Drawing

Linking Part Properties to Drawing

(OP)
Hello Everyone,

Being a CATIA user for a little time, I am struggling with the following things:

1. How to create properties like mass, drawn by, date etc etc in part or assembly
2. How to link these properties to the drawing template or title block of drawing, so that every time I change my part properties like date or name, the title block is automatically updated.

Focus is: how to pull these properties from part to show them in the drafting

Please guys help me out. I would really appreciate your inputs on this :)

Thank you.

RE: Linking Part Properties to Drawing

In the model file:
Step 1) Fill out the file properties.
Step 2) For any non-standard properties, create CUSTOM properties.

In the draft file:
Step 3) Use Callouts (not text boxes) and click on the Property Text button.
This is how you link text that appears on the face of the drawing to the properties in the model file.

RE: Linking Part Properties to Drawing

I would add that you want to add these property linked callouts on the background sheet(s). The properties you listed exist by default (are not custom).
