Material Properties in Attributes

Material Properties in Attributes

(OP)
Hello fellow NXers,

I noticed that when I pick a Material for my part in NX8, the Material shows up in the File>Properties Attributes. Is there a way to get the properties of the material, such as density to show up in the attributes?

Thanks as always,

Randy

RE: Material Properties in Attributes

First go to...

File -> Options -> Save Options...

...and make sure that the 'Generate Weight Data' option is toggled ON.

Now Assign your Material and then save the part file. Now go to...

File -> Properties -> Attributes

...and you should she what you're looking for.

Note that the names of the material attributes, and whether they are created or not, can be controlled by customer default settings (Gateway -> materials/mass -> attributes).
