Root pass with 6010

Root pass with 6010

(OP)
Hi all, i have a following question.

Why root pass in welding of steels is preferred with E6010 though it has cellulose in its coating means it has moisture in its crystal lattice?

Thanx in advance

RE: Root pass with 6010

For carbon and low alloy steels the E6010 is a deep penetration rod.

RE: Root pass with 6010

It is also the fastest "freezing electrode on the market today. This allows the welder to have the greatest control over the weld puddle - a useful attribute when welding open roots

cheers,

stk
