Curvature definition in Solidworks

Curvature definition in Solidworks

Curvature definition in Solidworks

(OP)
Hi~

I am using Solidworks and CATIA.
CATIA provides Gaussian curvature and mean curvature for surface analysis.
However, I can not find out which surface curvature is provided in Solidworks.
Is it Gaussian curvature, mean curvature, minimum curvature, or other definition?
In the HELP documents, I only found "Curvature is defined as the reciprocal of the radius (1/radius), in current model units. By default, the greatest curvature value displayed is 1.0000, and the smallest value is 0.0010."

Can you kindly help me? Thank you!

RE: Curvature definition in Solidworks

Pretty sure it's minimum curvature. If you're intrepid, you can make some models to test this. If you're not, you can simply take my words.

RE: Curvature definition in Solidworks

Intrepid, had to look it up - good one Tick. Not that I have a clue how that curvature really works, but it sounds like it fits with tongue-in-cheek.
