AMADA 1212@II - Problems with marking.
(OP)
Hello Friends,
I have trouble marking and then cut.
Performs priece and then marking. If low power priece (101) after marking not cut.
Table of Priece low power for marking and at the same time high power for cutting? this can be done?
As for marking priece cancels?
I look and Greetings,
Hugo

There's a couple of different kind of marks you can leave on steel with a CO2 laser.
You can run a nice shiny bead, using low pressure inert gas. Basically you're running a puddle along the surface.
More power and more pressure, and you'll blow the molten steel away and make a shallow trench. Hard to get anything that looks good.
Run pretty high power, real short pulse width, and make a series of dots along the surface. A bit like the trench, but better controlled.
But in any case, the trick is to find a parameter that will mark ok at your set feedrate without digging in too much at the corners.
By definition, your speed drops to zero at a sharp corner. If the machine is quick or the materials is thick, then no prob.
Probably air is fine for cover gas. Fairly low pressure, cause you're trying not to cut...
But I hope folks who've done it a lot more recently can chime in.
