Material traps on steel

Material traps on steel

(OP)

I have attached a sketch of problem. We are dealing with a long box truss conveyor, (750 ft) which consists of 10 box trusses (75 ft each) they have painters rail (some parts toe down channel and some parts a tee section). Material from conveyor falls on these and cause deterioration of bottom chord.

The plant does not want to remove the painterrail due to high costs. Any body knows a solution to prevent material on the painters rail?

I believe this is not a new problem and somebody has ran across.

Thank you
