Load Options does not seem to work as expected

Load Options does not seem to work as expected

Load Options does not seem to work as expected

(OP)
When I used a Standalone version of Unigrpahics earlier, I noticed I could not copy geometry between parts using wave geometry linker unless I explicity fully load the part I need to copy from (this I think is because I "use Partial loading" as assembly load option).

We now have Teamcenter integrated, and I see that I can copy geometry between parts without having to load them fully (even when I set the "use partial loading" load option). My system seems very slow to respond even for regular rotation or switching between part windows. I am not sure if this difference in load behavior is the cause for this. The assembly file I am opening is not small it has about 500 unique parts.

I tried to open UG direclty and I still cannot get to duplicate the partial loading similar to what I was used to earlier.

I am using NX 8.5.3.3 on a HP workstation with Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1620 v2 @ 3.70GHz, Windows 7 64 bit, with 16GB ram with Quadro K2000 graphics card.

If any of you folks have experience with this, can you please comment.

Thanks,

RE: Load Options does not seem to work as expected

Csubba,

The scenarios described would be possible with partial loading enabled in both cases if the "load options, load interpart data" setting were set to any option other than "none" in the TC example.

When comparing situations it may be helpful to use (menu) "Info, Part, Loaded Parts" to see the actual partial/full load status at the current time (as opposed to trying to infer it based on the current settings of the load options).

HTH,

Joe

Thanks Joe, I had not used the "Info, Part, Loaded Parts" function before, I see that the parts are not fully loaded.
