Muliple impact explicit model is this possible?

Muliple impact explicit model is this possible?

(OP)
Hi,

I have a UMAT that keeps track of damage over time for solid hex elements in a square target.

I am bombarding this target with randomly shaped particles at random velocities.

So far this has been implemented for 1 particle, so far so good!

I would like to continue bombarding with more particles but I am in no way concerned with the time evolution of a particle once it stops interacting with the target.

Is it possible to delete a particle during simulation or would I have to stop the simulation, delete the particle & then restart?

If the latter then, is it possible to retain the stress state in the target mesh?

Thanks

Nic
