I have an idea that just might turn out to be patentable for my current employer, or be an old hat. So I'm asking here:
* What are (common) control strategies for industrial mixers? My process engineeinrg textbooks didn't mmention any.
* what is typically controlled - power uptake, rpm, both?
* What quantity/qunatities are maeasured for the control loop?
If someone could point me to an overview article or answer a few question themself (or just provide me with more terms for googling), that would be awesome

The control parameters are set in the field after observation of the mixing.

Industry: Batch Chemical Operations.
Control: ON/OFF, VFD manually adjusting HZ. Operating 12 to 60 Hz
Mostly slowing down to reduce splashing and to reduce shaft vibration at low liquid levels.
Rapid stirring at minimal liquid levels is a seal breaking method we often employ.
