White Cast Iron Conversion Charts for Leeb Type "D" to HBW/HRC?

White Cast Iron Conversion Charts for Leeb Type "D" to HBW/HRC?

White Cast Iron Conversion Charts for Leeb Type "D" to HBW/HRC?

(OP)
I've been trying to find data for approximate conversions between Leeb Hardness Numbers (Type D Device) and an indentation hardness method/scale (HBW, HRC, HV, etc), for high chromium white cast irons (e.g. BS4844 Grade 3D) specifically. Has anyone come across data comparing these HLD to one of the indentation scales for these alloys?

RE: White Cast Iron Conversion Charts for Leeb Type "D" to HBW/HRC?

If it's not in ASTM E140 then I wouldn't know where to look. Ask a manufacturer maybe.

"If you don't have time to do the job right the first time, when are you going to find time to repair it?"

You can find many conversion tables on the internet, but none say that they are for high hardness case iron.
I would be very leery of using rebound hardness for a material that is as non-homogenous as a white iron.
