SpeedPak

SpeedPak

SpeedPak

(OP)
I've created a department issue using SpeedPak in an environment where many engineers are working on various components of the same project. I have several large stations that I'm modeling in a facitity layout. All of the individual station models have customer components that are large files themselves. Each station has also been modeled with several different configurations creating pretty large files - 100 to 200 meg range. BTW - we just moved to SW2014 at the beginning of the month (Feb 2015).

I have taken each of the of the station model assemblies and created a "Simplified" configuration where I supressed all of the customer parts. I then created a SpeedPak of that configuration and used the SpeedPak in my facility layout model. I included all parts in the Speedpak configuration and left to ghost option turned on so the parts remain visable.

It seems that when other engineers open one of the stations that has a SpeedPak configuration they get a "ghost circle" and when they try to change to one of the other configurations SolidWorks crashes.

I've been using SpeedPak for quite a while and haven't seen anything like this. It appears if I open the files where I created the SpeedPak, I can change configurations, save the file and the other engineers now have access. Any idea what may be causing this?

Thanks for the help - Dave

RE: SpeedPak

The graphic circle is there by default from SolidWorks you can use Alt + S to toggle the activation. Or you can change it in the options. If they change the options of showing the graphic circle before opening the files does this also causes craches?
