jagged pdf output with shaded areas

jagged pdf output with shaded areas

(OP)
Hi there (1st post) ...

the company I work for is wanting to create a v.large colour layout drawing showing all the indiividual assemblies & tooling we supply for a project - we are having problems when trying to plot / print / export the finished layout to a pdf file - problem is the shaded filled in areas become very jagged as the pdf files is zoomed in (the outlines of the parts / assemblies are fine only the shaded in-filled areas are the problem).

note I do not think the pc is the problem I am running a 10-core Xeon E5-2680 2.8GHz + 32GB ram + 3GB Quaddro K4000 GPU - also assembly is large but not huge (1000-2000 parts total I reckon)

have had a play around with the file resolution (draft / med / high) and this doesnt seem to affect quality of output at all?!?

Thanks,

SteevO_Tabasco

RE: jagged pdf output with shaded areas

welcome,

What version of NX?

Is it a drawing or a rendering of an assembly ?
If it is a drawing,
you can probably gain some from this thread
http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=379617

The shaded image quality on a drawing is to my knowledge controlled by the setting in the
File - export- pdf - Settings - Image resolution - High
File - print - Settings - Image resolution - High
File - plot - Settings - Image resolution - High

If it isn't a drawing, it's a completely different story, i won't go into that yet.

Regards,
Tomas

Hi Tomas it is a Drawing - will try these steps
thanks

RE: jagged pdf output with shaded areas

yes, try those steps, then if it is something that is done frequently then a journal or macro can be utilized to do it.
