Hi All,

Using NX 8.5.3.3.
I am working on Master drawing wherein I need to put Section View for One Model Configuration.
But for other configuration Section View is not needed. Can we auto supress or hide the Section view?
I dont want to manually do the boundaries and hide it, Is there any alternative for this ?

Thanks & Regards

RE: View Supress

You could always set the Scale of the view using the value of an Expression. And then just set the expression value to something like 0.0001, update the Drawing and the view will all but disappear.

Ohh k that I can do John, Thanks.
but there is no command like Suppress Drafting View in NX ??

RE: View Supress

no there really isn't
are you concerned about the view label still being there?

RE: View Supress

I noticed there is a command called Suppress Drafting Object
I have never utilized it, but maybe it can be used to suppress the things related to you section view when the view itself is scaled down and invisible.

yeah Jerry, suppress drafting object command can be used to suppress labels, dimensions, notes associated with the view that is scaled down and invisible.
I think, NX should now include views also in Suppress Drafting Object Command.

Thanks & Regards

RE: View Supress

yea, that would be a good idea

RE: View Supress

A drafting component (a view from another part) can be suppressed similar to a true component. When suppressed, the geometry in the view will not be shown (or printed/plotted). Theoretically, you could suppress the view geometry and related drafting objects based on the value of an expression. I'm not sure if/how this would work for section views.

In general, I advise against drafting components, but they do have their uses...
