Exporting slabs from ETABS to SAFE - Transfer loads are not in SAFE!

Exporting slabs from ETABS to SAFE - Transfer loads are not in SAFE!

(OP)
Hi

I'm working on a multi level concrete structure modeled on etabs. Two columns supporting level 2 slab are transferred on level 1 slab.

We have exported level 1 slab in Safe but the transfer point loads from the columns are not there. I'm sure that this is a mistake from our end but we can't figure out how to export the floor in safe including the transfer point loads or line loads calculated on etabs.

Looks like that we have to manually copy the loads from Etabs to Safe. I can't believe that this is what we have to do. Etabs and safe talks to each other so I expecting to find all the transfer loads on top of the slab.

It's pretty common to have transfer loads on top of a slab, when exporting to safe the loads should be there ready for the slab design.

Hopefully someone can help me out with this.

Thanks

IMHO you might have checked the "Export Floor Loads Only", option in ETABS Export Options window, while exporting model to SAFE.

Try exporting again, now by selecting "Export Floor Loads and Loads From Above". Moreover, make sure you have selected all the relevant load cases to export, using 'Select cases...' available in the same window.

Note: I am assuming that you are using ETABS version 9. In later versions, the options might be somewhat different.

in addition to the advice from PSEPK, it is important that analysis has been run and the model is locked when you are exporting. It might seem trivial but it's an issue that can happen.

I am unable to understand exactly where you are facing the problem? In exporting some specific or all the desired data? or, you want to know how various foundation elements are design, after exporting the data? You should make your question clear, to get specific advice.

In case you are unclear about the whole ETABS to SAFE export process, you should search and download relevant 'Watch & Learn' video tutorial from CSI website, and watch it to understand the process.
