Motor Power Requirements through Bernoulli's equation
Motor Power Requirements through Bernoulli's equation
(OP)
I have a process question relating to Bernoulli's equation and I hope you guys can help.
An air blower is required to deliver 19 m3/sec. A suction gauge on the inlet side reads 50mm of water, while a gauge on the discharge side gives a positive reading of 75mm of water. The discharge gauge is attached at a point 2m above the suction gauge, the discharge and inlet pipes are of identical diameter. If an overall efficiency of 68 percent can be assumed, what motor power is required?
This is my answer (see attachment/link) can anyone tell me that i am on the right path please?

RE: Motor Power Requirements through Bernoulli's equation
Your efficiency is applied the wrong way round - divide by it not multiply.... you're calculating shaft power, not motor power and since when was "g" 12.4??
I also think the 2m is a red herring.
Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.
