ABAQUS-large deformation problem

ABAQUS-large deformation problem

ABAQUS-large deformation problem

(OP)
Hello,
i'm handling the impact problem. My question is: what causes these strage distortions and how to prevent this?
1. Before impact

2. After impact

I use status variable to see the results, but I saw analysis (on YouTube, etc.) where author didn't use status variables and results were reliable (without these strange distortion).
So what is a clue to do this analysis in a proper way?
And last question. How should I understad status variable limits? For example, I entered "1" in von Mises stress (S) max value and results looks much better...

Best wishes and thanks in advence
Tomasz

RE: ABAQUS-large deformation problem

Do you have material failure and element deletion active in your model?
It looks like the deactivated elements are displayed. Use the Status variable to manage that.
