Clarifcation to ASME Mandatory Appendix 43

Clarifcation to ASME Mandatory Appendix 43

Clarifcation to ASME Mandatory Appendix 43

(OP)
Due to varying opinions within our company I'm posting the following questions and scenarios as to eliminate doubt.

1.) If Company X plans to ship a heat exchanger tomorrow which was originally designed to the 1994 edition of the ASME code, is it permitted to indicate the exchanger was designed to the 1994 edition of the ASME code on our current U-1 data report with no code calculations performed to the 2013 Edition of the ASME Code?

2.) If Company X plans to ship a heat exchanger tomorrow which was originally designed to the 1994 edition of the ASME code, are a new set of code calculations required to be performed to the 2013 Edition of the ASME Code?

3.) Is there a difference in the manner in which ASME views complete replacement heat exchangers vs. duplicate heat exchangers?

4.) If Company X plans to ship a replacement part tomorrow (ex: a bundle, or a bonnet) are code calculations required to be performed to the 2013 Edition of the ASME Code? Or can we rely on the Code year the part was originally built to for verification purposes?

Thanks For your responce
