Pipeline repair sleeve analysis

Pipeline repair sleeve analysis

Pipeline repair sleeve analysis

(OP)
Hi,

I am currently attempting to model a steel full encirclement sleeve on a section of pipeline. I am however having difficulties in the modelling of the assembly. The assembly is made of a pipeline part and a sleeve, a pressure is applied on the inside of the pipeline to represent the internal pressure of a pipeline.
The problem I am encountering is trying to get the deformantion of the pipeline section to act on the repair sleeve part, so that I can determoine the stresses present in the repair sleeve part.
So far I have attempted contact interactions and also constraint > ties to try and simulate the stresses, these have not produced data that I am satisfied with.
The independance or dependance of the parts when meshing does not seem to have any effect.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
