General Motors Vehicle Assembly Structure (or GM VAS)

Hi,

I'm interested in learning the basics about the General Motors Vehicle Assembly Structure (or GM VAS) up to the a level that would enable me to use these knowledge at my current job.
Could somebody help me with the basics of this subject and/or direct my search in the right direction?

Thanks a lot!

RE: General Motors Vehicle Assembly Structure (or GM VAS)

You're probably going to have to have onsite access (meaning work within GM buildings) - I don't believe they allow access to it outside of their "walls". For example, my current employer is a supplier to GM and we have onsite designers that work in GM offices. Only the onsite designers can access the VAS - the designers in our corporate offices cannot even if we have Teamcenter and connections to GMs databases. GM doesn't allow access to it like they do for integrated suppliers with Teamcenter.

Not knowing the specifics of your job, if you're not onsite, you're gonna have a tough time learning about the VAS without access to it. Direct your questions to GM - it's their baby.
