Criteria Selection of Pipeline Strainer

Criteria Selection of Pipeline Strainer

Criteria Selection of Pipeline Strainer

(OP)
Hi,

What is the criteria on selecting types of pipeline strainer? I mean what to consider when to use either basket type, t-type, y-type, etc.

Does type of fluid and flowrate the depending criteria on selecting type of strainer?

Thank you

RE: Criteria Selection of Pipeline Strainer

I'm really curious as tho why you put the word pipeline in front of strainer.

Pipelines don't have strainers, the piping that comes of a pipeline might....

Considerations include what you are protecting downstream, how "dirty" the fluid is, how often you think you might need to clean it,replace the filter elements etc

You always need to have some means of measuring the differential pressure.

My motto: Learn something new every day

Also: There's usually a good reason why everyone does it that way
