Catia airfoil design

Catia airfoil design

Catia airfoil design

(OP)
Is there any way of importing the airfoil coordinates (all at once) into Catia so the airfoil will be automatically generated?

If yes, could you tell me what Catia function does this?
If yes, is the airfoil generated as a closed spline or do I have to join all points manually?

If not what is the fastest way to draw an airfoil by  coordinates using Catia?
I would like to draw the wing using two different (NACA) airfoils and I would like to know if the exact coordinates could be used to do this job.

Thank you very much for your time.

RE: Catia airfoil design

typically it is easier to generate a dxf or cad airfoil from a program like profili and import this into catia drafting. Then it is just a matter of cuting and pasting the points into a plane in part design. Typically you will have to use a spline to connect the points. one spline takes up alot less memory than the hundreds of short lines that are impoted. The spline also allows for an easier loft between
