Hi all,
I am a new in FEM modeling. Currently, I am working on coupled temperature-displacement model on ABAQUS. The model is related to underground rock mass. I have few question regarding input parameters.

1. How I assign vertical stress (=γ * height) and horizontal stress in the model. In this case the vertical stress will vary with the depth.
2. The initial rock temperature is 10°C. The top surface is introducing constant heating of 50°C (fixed), I want to check the change in temperature and the mechanical stresses due to this increase of temperature. But without not fixing the temperature of lower boundary of the model (or any other boundary), I am not able to see the change in temperature. And this change makes equilibrium because both temperature boundaries are fixed, which is not my desired result. I need the continuous increase in temperature by providing continues heating from top surface, and want to check the results of 0.5 year, 1 year and so on.
The model file is attached herewith. Please guide me with your valuable suggestions. Thanks!
