Impact Loading Produced by an Exploding Grenade

Impact Loading Produced by an Exploding Grenade

(OP)
I am designing a blast proof RC Wall for a Grenade Area (the soldiers are going to practice throwing grenades at the wall). The issue is that I have been unable to find a good resource for impact force produced by an exploding grenade. Can anyone help me on this? From a similar experience? What can be the impact loading produced by an exploding Grenade?

P.S. An exploding MK 61 grenade produces blast winds of up to 5 psi and has a blast velocity of 8000 m/s. If someone can translate these parameters into an impact force, I'd be much obliged.

RE: Impact Loading Produced by an Exploding Grenade

doesn't psi*area = force?

You could look for design documents from Army Corps of Engineers or FEAM:

Of course I can. I can do anything. I can do absolutely anything. I'm an expert!

RE: Impact Loading Produced by an Exploding Grenade

Sounds like about 720 psf or so WSD, X 1.6 = 1152 psf ultimate for the reinforcing.

Use 720 psf for the overturning.

RE: Impact Loading Produced by an Exploding Grenade

I would assume that the 5 psi has to be associated with some minimum distance and maximum area, and if you don't know that, is pretty meaningless.
The old grenades were made to produce shrapnel, is that still the case?
