EN 10204, certificates

EN 10204, certificates

EN 10204, certificates

(OP)
Hi there !

hope somebody could help me in this topic

I have to check if two certificates for
- copper
and
- steel ASTM A106 B

respectively are conform to requirements of EN 10204, certificate 3.1.
Please, is there a check list I have to consider ?

I mean:
- material definition according to standard...
- which tests have to be realized ? Is there a list I can check ?

Thanks !

RE: EN 10204, certificates

You typically check them against the spec it is made to and that is reported on the MTR.
So for A106-B, check what ASTM spec A106 requires for grade B. What copper(spec) do you use?

EN 10204 in it self does not tell you what should be on the MTR in terms of material requirements.

RE: EN 10204, certificates

Paul,
First thing is to check against the purchase order, to see what has been ordered, hot-finished or cold-drawn, chemical composition, optional requirements of ASTM A106, Section 9 and S1 to S4, hydrostatic test in accordance with ASTM A530 or Clause 13.3 of ASTM A106, or NDE in accordance with Section 14 of A106. Normal requirements are listed in ASTM A530. Also, you need to read one more time EN 10204 to clearly understand the certification classes definition. I'm sure that if you do a bit of reading, you'll be better prepared to make decisions on all other material certificates you might handle in your work. This is not very good pick up from a forum, better read it yourself.
Cheers,
