Keep nodal selection order in FEMAP

Keep nodal selection order in FEMAP

Keep nodal selection order in FEMAP

(OP)
Hi,
I want to keep the selection order of nodes when I extract results from FEMAP. currently, when I extract results to data table, FEMAP automatically sorts my nodes in ascending order and i do not want that.
anyone knows how I can keep my nodal selection order?

thanks,

RE: Keep nodal selection order in FEMAP

Use the select toolbar, toggle node on, and pick nodes with "Select Multiple" toggled on.
It will populate in the order you pick.

isn't there a choice somewhere "use selection order"

'use selection order' choice is available when you want to "list" nodes. but I didnt see any such option while extracting results to data table.

stressebookllc, good idea but the only thing is I have don't have a few nodes. I have like 20 nodes or so which becomes very cumbersome. but thanks for your suggestion!

RE: Keep nodal selection order in FEMAP

how about putting the nodes in a group, and using the f06 file to print the results ?

if you want only a few sets of nodes, how about renumbering the nodes (to be sequential) ?

yes, i'm olde school ...

not sure how to use f06 file to print results :(

renumbering is the easiest approach of all. Thanks

RE: Keep nodal selection order in FEMAP

Yeah, just renumber them in the "selection order" first and then select with the rectangle pick..

"not sure how to use f06 file to print results :(" ... under print options (in the analysis setup, yes?). i think it's the same screen for entering the constraint case and the load case. down near the bottom of the page "print options", elect "3, print and post-process", i think.
