Range thickness for WPS with PWHT

(OP)
Dear Sir,
I have 1 PQR with thickness base metal 25mm, No require CVN, Have PWHT, Qualified follow ASME IX.

So i can develop 1 WSP with max range thickness 200mm with the same Temp and Holding time PWHT in this PQR.

RE: Range thickness for WPS with PWHT

No. You could, however, by qualifying on a 1.5" thick material. Time at temperature is a supplementary essential variable when impact testing is required. It is not an essential variable otherwise.

RE: Range thickness for WPS with PWHT

Your PQR qualifies for 5 mm to 50 mm base metal thickness and a maximum of 50mm deposited weld metal thickness
For welding 200mm base metal you need a PQR done on a minimum of 1.5" thick base metal with deposited weld metal of each process of ¾" or more.
If you take a 1.5" thick base metal and weld it with 2 processes (¾" each), you will qualify for base metal of 5 to 200mm and deposited weld metal for each process of 200mm. Refer Table QW-451.1 of Section IX
