Low pressure (<10 bar/120psi) compensated flow regulator valve ??

Low pressure (<10 bar/120psi) compensated flow regulator valve ??

Hi everybody,

Following the discussion on thread408-349398: Torque Testing bench , I need a flow regulator valve to control the rotating speed of a pneumatic actuator filled with oil.

I would like to know which type of flow regulator valve would best do the job. I've been searching for pressure-compensated and temperature-compensated flow regulator valves. They can achieve nearly constant output flow, independent from input pressure and fluid temperature. The problem I'm finding is that most of these valves operate at medium/high pressures. At pressures of 10 bars or less (operating pressure for a pneumatic actuator), these valves usually can't achieve a constant output flow.

Do anyone know a low pressure flow regulator valve's manufacturer? I need flows betwen 1 and 20 liters/min (0,25 to 5,5 gpm aprox.) with input pressures of 1 to 8 bars (15 to 120 psi aprox.).

Thank you very much!!

Please clarify: Regulating valve for air or oil? Rotating actuator for air : construction type/drawing/data?

Sorry,

It's a pneumatic rotating actuactor but I'm going to fill it with oil (I've talked about this with the manufacturer and there should be no problem). It's just for a test setup. Not for permanent working.

So I need an hidraulic flow regulator to control it's rotating speed. The pressure inside the actuator is going to be up to 8 bar (120 psi).

Thank you very much!

http://www.mankenberg.de/en/20/products.html as an example of available types.

Also check if you need a constant flow or constant pressure regulating valve. Recomennded is also an additional hand operated needle valve for fine adjustment and a checkvalve to avoid trouble (back-pressure variations) to influence your regulating system.
