Line bending machine

Line bending machine

(OP)
I am looking for a plastic sheet bending machine similar to the one operating in this video at 0:43

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-iOEePnsvY

Can anyone know where I can get something similar?

Thanks.

RE: Line bending machine

Looks like an automatic press brake... seems like a search of Alibaba would turn up 100+ Chinese manufacturers willing to ship.

RE: Line bending machine

Can you snag a few stills out of that video, so we don't all have to do it? The portion of interest flashes by rather quickly, and keeps getting obliterated by dropouts in my Uverse (not recommended) connection.

It's clearly a programmed folder. What's not apparent is whether it also has a line heater, or whether/how the fold per se is relieved or not, and how/when the fold is fed into and out of the folder.

The name of the company _suggests_ that they're relieving the fold, folding cold, and retaining the folded geometry by means of some kind of snap fit features that are milled in the flat.
... but none of that is obvious.

Mike,

I saw no heating elements in that machine (though admittedly, they could be easily buried), and it looks like the fold lines are where the router made relief cuts.

RE: Line bending machine

The heaters are not shown but the plastic would have to be heated to bend like that.

The place to get equipment like shown in the video if from the company that made the video.

RE: Line bending machine

I would think that depends upon the plastic, CP, no? With a thin cross-section, plenty of plastics will do a one-time bend.

RE: Line bending machine

The video narration says "heating, bending, and cooling".

RE: Line bending machine

Hmmm... guess I should have turned the sound on and not skipped to the part of the video that showed the machine...
